स सागरमनाधृष्यमतिक्रम्य महाबलः ।
त्रिकूटशिखरे लङ्कां स्थितां स्वस्थो ददर्श ह ॥ ॥५-२-१॥
sa sāgaramanādhṛṣyamatikramya mahābalaḥ । trikūṭaśikhare laṅkāṃ sthitāṃ svastho dadarśa ha ॥ ॥5-2-1॥
Translation
Having crossed the unconquerable ocean, the mighty one saw Lanka situated on the peak of Trikuta mountain; he was indeed composed and healthy.

उस अजेय सागर को पार करके महाबली हनुमान ने त्रिकूट पर्वत के शिखर पर स्थित लंका को देखा। (इतना परिश्रम करने के बाद भी) वे पूर्णतः स्वस्थ (थकान रहित) थे।
English Commentary
This opening verse of the second canto emphasizes Hanuman's resilience. The key descriptor is Svasthaḥ (literally "situated in oneself," meaning healthy, comfortable, and unwearied). Despite the grueling journey across the Anādhṛṣyam (unassailable) ocean, he shows no signs of fatigue. This detail is crucial to establish that he enters the enemy territory at peak performance, not as an exhausted survivor. He stands on Trikuta, ready for the next phase of his mission.

द्वितीय सर्ग का यह प्रथम श्लोक हनुमान जी की शारीरिक और मानसिक स्थिति का वर्णन करता है। सबसे महत्वपूर्ण शब्द है 'स्वस्थः' (Healthy/Composed/Situated in self). सौ योजन की उड़ान और राक्षसों से युद्ध के बाद भी वे हांफ नहीं रहे थे, न ही थके थे। यह 'महाबलः' विशेषण को सार्थक करता है। 'अनाधृष्यम्' (जिसका कोई घर्षण/सामना न कर सके) सागर को पार करना उनकी शक्ति का प्रमाण है। अब वे लंका का सूक्ष्म निरीक्षण (Observation) करने के लिए तैयार हैं।
