ततः स चिन्तयामास मुहूर्तं कपिकुञ्जरः ।
गिरिशृङ्गे स्थितस्तस्मिन् रामस्याभ्युदये रतः ॥ ॥५-२-३२॥
Tataḥ sa cintayāmāsa muhūrtaṃ kapikuñjaraḥ । Giriśṛṅge sthitastasmin rāmasyābhyudaye rataḥ ॥ ॥5-2-32॥
Translation
Then, that elephant among monkeys, devoted to the welfare of Rama, stood on that mountain peak and reflected for a moment.

अर्थ: तदनन्तर, राम के अभ्युदय (कल्याण/उन्नति) में लगे हुए उस कपिकुञ्जर (वानरश्रेष्ठ) ने उस पर्वत शिखर पर स्थित होकर मुहूर्त भर (कुछ क्षण) चिंतन किया।
English Commentary
The phrase rāmasyābhyudaye rataḥ (intent on Rama's welfare/success) defines Hanuman’s motivation. He is not driven by personal glory but by service. Standing on the peak, he takes a moment (muhūrtaṃ) to pivot mentally. This pause is crucial; it marks the shift from the journey's physical exertion to the mission's intellectual demand. He composes himself before entering enemy territory, ensuring his devotion is matched by careful deliberation.
