Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
भूताश्चार्था विपद्यन्ते देशकालविरोधिताः ।
विक्लबं दूतमासाद्य तमः सूर्योदये यथा ॥ ॥५-२-३९॥
Bhūtāścārthā vipadyante deśakālavirodhitāḥ । Viklabaṃ dūtamāsādya tamaḥ sūryodaye yathā ॥ ॥5-2-39॥
Translation
Just as darkness vanishes at sunrise, tasks that are nearly accomplished fail when opposed by (inappropriate) time and place, or when entrusted to a confused/incompetent messenger.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अर्थ: जैसे सूर्योदय होने पर अन्धकार नष्ट हो जाता है, वैसे ही देश और काल के विरोध (विपरीत होने) से तथा व्याकुल (अयोग्य) दूत को पाकर सिद्ध हुए (बनते-बनाते) कार्य भी बिगड़ जाते हैं।
English Commentary
A profound management principle is enunciated here. Tasks fail due to three factors: incongruous place (deśa), inappropriate time (kāla), and an incompetent agent (viklaba dūta). The simile is striking: a confused messenger destroys a mission just as sunrise destroys darkness. Hanuman is reflecting on the qualities required of him. He must be calm, keenly aware of timing and geography, and mentally stable to ensure the mission's survival.

टिप्पणी: यह नीति (Management/Wisdom) का श्लोक है। हनुमान जी विश्लेषण करते हैं कि कार्य बिगड़ते क्यों हैं। तीन कारण: 1. गलत देश (स्थान), 2. गलत काल (समय), और 3. 'विक्लबं दूतं' (घबराया हुआ या बुद्धिहीन दूत)। जैसे सूर्योदय अंधकार को मिटा देता है, वैसे ही एक अयोग्य दूत बनी- बनाई बात को मिटा देता है। हनुमान स्वयं को चेतावनी दे रहे हैं कि उन्हें 'विक्लब' (व्याकुल/confused) नहीं होना है।
