वायुरप्यत्र नाज्ञातश्चरेदिति मतिर्मम ।
न ह्यस्त्यविदितं किंचिद्राक्षसानां बलीयसाम् ॥ ॥५-२-४४॥
Vāyurapyatra nājñātaścarediti matirmama । Na hyastyaviditaṃ kiñcid rākṣasānāṃ balīyasām ॥ ॥5-2-44॥
Translation
It is my opinion that even the wind cannot move here unknown. Indeed, nothing remains unknown to these mighty Rakshasas.

मेरा मत है कि यहाँ वायु भी अज्ञात होकर विचरण नहीं कर सकती। उन बलवान राक्षसों से कुछ भी छिपा नहीं है (उन्हें सब कुछ ज्ञात रहता है)।
English Commentary
Hanuman engages in hyperbole to emphasize the severity of the challenge. By stating that 'even the wind' cannot move undetected, he acknowledges the supernatural vigilance of the Rakshasas. This is a significant admission from the Son of Wind himself. The verse reinforces the idea that Ravana’s power is not just built on brute force but on total informational control (aviditaṃ kiñcid - nothing is unknown). This assessment forces Hanuman to abandon conventional methods of infiltration. He recognizes that the Rakshasas possess distinct powers (balīyasām) that make them formidable gatekeepers, necessitating a solution that transcends physical might.

यहाँ हनुमान जी अतिशयोक्ति का प्रयोग करते हुए लंका की अभेद्य सुरक्षा का वर्णन कर रहे हैं। 'वायुरप्यत्र नाज्ञातः' (यहाँ वायु भी अज्ञात नहीं है) यह दर्शाता है कि लंका में प्रवेश करने वाले हर तत्व पर दृष्टि रखी जाती है। यह रावण के 'प्रताप' और उसके प्रशासन की कठोरता का द्योतक है। यद्यपि हनुमान स्वयं वायुपुत्र हैं, तथापि वे शत्रु की क्षमता को कम नहीं आंकते। 'बलीयसाम्' (अत्यंत बलवान) शब्द का प्रयोग शारीरिक बल के साथ-साथ उनकी जासूसी क्षमता और मायावी शक्तियों के लिए भी किया गया है। एक नीति-निपुण दूत के रूप में, हनुमान जी यह स्वीकार करते हैं कि शत्रु के घर में गोपनीयता बनाए रखना सबसे कठिन चुनौती है।
