मां हि धर्मात्मनः पत्नीं शचीमिव शचीपतेः ।
त्वदन्यस्त्रिषु लोकेषु प्रार्थयेन्मनसापि कः ।
॥५-२०-१४॥
māṃ hi dharmātmanaḥ patnīṃ śacīm iva śacīpateḥ । tvadanyas triṣu lokeṣu prārthayen manasāpi kaḥ । ॥5-20-14॥
Translation
For who else in the three worlds, other than you, would even mentally desire me, the wife of the righteous one, who is like Shachi, the wife of the Lord of Shachi (Indra)?

साक्षात् धर्मस्वरूप (राम) की पत्नी, जो शचीपति (इंद्र) की पत्नी शची के समान है, उसे तीनों लोकों में तुम्हारे अतिरिक्त और कौन मन से भी चाहने का दुस्साहस कर सकता है?
English Commentary
Sita rhetorically isolates Ravana as the sole sinner in the universe capable of such audacity. By comparing herself to Shachi (Indra's wife), she reiterates her high status and untouchability. She asks, "Who else but you?" (tvadanyaḥ), implying that such a thought would not even cross the mind (manasāpi) of any other being in the three worlds. This frames Ravana not as brave, but as uniquely depraved and reckless for coveting the wife of a Dharmatma (righteous soul).

सीता जी पुनः अपनी तुलना शची (इंद्राणी) से करती हैं, जो सतीत्व और शक्ति का प्रतीक हैं। वह कहती हैं कि 'मनसापि' (मन से भी) मुझे चाहना पाप है। रावण के अलावा तीनों लोकों में कोई इतना मूढ़ या पापी नहीं है जो ऐसा विचार भी लाए। 'त्वदन्यः' (तुम्हारे सिवाय) कहकर वह रावण को पूरी सृष्टि में अकेला और सबसे अधम घोषित करती हैं। यह रावण के एकाकीपन और उसके अपराध की विशिष्टता को रेखांकित करता है।
