Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
राक्षसाधम रामस्य भार्याममिततेजसः ।
उक्तवानसि यत्पापं क्व गतस्तस्य मोक्ष्यसे ।
॥५-२०-१५॥
rākṣasādhama rāmasya bhāryām amitatejasaḥ । uktavān asi yat pāpaṃ kva gatas tasya mokṣyase । ॥5-20-15॥
Translation
O lowest of Rakshasas, having spoken such sinful words to the wife of Rama of immeasurable splendor, where can you go to escape him?
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राक्षसाधम (नीच राक्षस)! अमित तेज वाले राम की भार्या से तुमने जो यह पापपूर्ण बात कही है, उसके बाद तुम जहाँ कहीं भी चले जाओ, उससे (राम के दंड से) बच नहीं पाओगे।
English Commentary
Sita delivers a final verdict in this exchange. Addressing him again as rākṣasādhama (lowest of demons), she warns that geography cannot save him. Because he has spoken sinfully to the wife of Rama—who is amitatejasaḥ (of immeasurable glory/power)—there is no sanctuary available to him. Kva gataḥ (where having gone/fled) implies that flight is futile. The inescapable nature of Rama’s justice is the central theme here, serving as a counter-threat to Ravana's earlier ultimatum.
हिंदी टीका
सीता जी रावण को 'राक्षसाधम' कहकर संबोधित करती हैं और उसे चुनौती देती हैं। 'अमिततेजसः' (जिसका तेज मापा न जा सके) राम का विशेषण है। सीता का प्रश्न 'क्व गतः' (कहाँ जाकर) अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। इसका अर्थ है कि पाताल, आकाश या पृथ्वी—कहीं भी छिपने का स्थान नहीं है जहाँ राम का बाण न पहुँच सके। तुमने जो पाप वचन ('यत्पापं') कहे हैं, उनका फल निश्चित है। यह श्लोक रावण की अपरिहार्य मृत्यु की घोषणा है।
