इमे ते नयने क्रूरे विरूपे कृष्णपिङ्गले ।

Translation
O ignoble one! Why do these cruel, grotesque, yellow-and-black eyes of yours not fall to the ground while gazing at me in this manner?
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे अनार्य! मुझ (पराई स्त्री) को इस प्रकार देखने वाले तुम्हारी ये क्रूर, विकृत और काली-पीली आँखें धरती पर गिर क्यों नहीं जातीं?
English Commentary
This verse captures the fiery purity of Sita. In the Dharmic code, looking at another man's wife with lust is a heinous sin. Sita expresses shock and righteousness, wondering why the laws of nature do not immediately punish Ravana by causing his eyes—described vividly as cruel, grotesque, and black-yellow (kṛṣṇapiṅgale)—to fall out. By calling him anarya (ignoble), she strips him of any claim to nobility or righteousness. It reflects the belief that intense moral transgression should invite immediate cosmic retribution.

यह श्लोक पतिव्रता धर्म के तेज और आक्रोश को व्यक्त करता है। भारतीय परंपरा में पराई स्त्री को कामुक दृष्टि से देखना घोर पाप माना गया है। सीता जी रावण को 'अनार्य' (जो श्रेष्ठ आचरण वाला न हो) कहती हैं। उनकी आँखें 'कृष्णपिङ्गले' (काली और पीली) बताई गई हैं, जो रावण की तामसिक और भयानक प्रकृति का प्रतीक हैं। सीता का यह प्रश्न कि "तुम्हारी आँखें गिर क्यों नहीं जातीं" एक शाप के समान है, जो यह दर्शाता है कि धर्म के अनुसार ऐसे पापी के अंगों का स्वतः खंडित हो जाना चाहिए। यह रावण के अधर्म की पराकाष्ठा है।
