यथा मद्वशगा सीता क्षिप्रं भवति जानकी ।
तथा कुरुत राक्षस्यः सर्वाः क्षिप्रं समेत्य च ।

yathā madvaśagā sītā kṣipraṃ bhavati jānakī |
tathā kuruta rākṣasyaḥ sarvāḥ kṣipraṃ sametya ca ॥5-20-34॥
Translation
"O Rakshasis! All of you come together and act quickly in such a way that Janaki (Sita) comes under my control without delay."
हिंदी अनुवाद
(रावण ने आदेश दिया) "हे राक्षसियों! तुम सब मिलकर शीघ्र ही ऐसा उपाय करो जिससे यह जानकी (सीता) जल्दी से जल्दी मेरे वश में हो जाए।"
English Commentary
Ravana issues a direct operational command. His patience has evaporated, indicated by the double use of kshipram (quickly). He instructs the Rakshasis to act collectively (sametya), implying a coordinated campaign of harassment. The goal is singular: mad-vashaga (under my control/submission). This marks the official handover of custody from Ravana’s direct courtship to the Rakshasis’ torture, aiming to break Sita’s will through collective pressure.

रावण अब अपने धैर्य को खो चुका है। वह राक्षसियों को स्पष्ट कार्यभार (mandate) सौंपता है—सीता को वश में करना। 'समेत्य' (मिलकर) शब्द महत्वपूर्ण है; वह चाहता है कि ये सभी भयानक राक्षसियाँ एक साथ मिलकर सीता पर दबाव डालें (gang up)। 'क्षिप्रं' (शीघ्र) शब्द दो बार प्रयोग किया गया है, जो रावण की व्याकुलता और काम-पीड़ा को दर्शाता है। उसे अब कूटनीति में नहीं, बल्कि परिणाम में रुचि है, चाहे वह किसी भी साधन से प्राप्त हो।
