पुष्पवृष्टिं च तरवो मुमुचुर्यस्य वै भयात् ।
शैलाश्च सुभ्रु पानीयं जलदाश् च यदेच्छति ।

puṣpavṛṣṭiṃ ca taravo mumucuryasya vai bhayāt |
śailāśca subhru pānīyaṃ jaladāś ca yadecchati ॥5-21-17॥
Translation
"O one with beautiful eyebrows, out of fear of whom trees release a shower of flowers, and mountains and clouds release water whenever he wishes."

"हे सुंदर भौंहों वाली! जिसके भय से वृक्ष फूलों की वर्षा करने लगते हैं, और जब वह चाहता है तब पर्वत और बादल पानी बरसाने लगते हैं (तुम उसे क्यों नहीं स्वीकारतीं?)"
English Commentary
Continuing the theme of cosmic dominance, this verse details how flora and geography obey Ravana. Trees shower flowers and mountains yield water merely out of 'bhayāt' (fear) and his desire. It suggests a tyranny so absolute that even inanimate objects strive to please him. Addressing Sita as 'subhru' (beautiful-browed), they juxtapose her delicate beauty with Ravana's terrifying power, subtly implying that she should align herself with this power rather than oppose it.

प्रकृति पर रावण के नियंत्रण के और उदाहरण दिए गए हैं। वृक्ष बिना मौसम के भी रावण के डर से फूल बरसाते हैं। 'शैलाश्च' (पर्वत भी) पानी देने लगते हैं (झरनों के रूप में)। यह दर्शाता है कि रावण की इच्छा ही कानून है। 'सुभ्रु' (सुंदर भौंहों वाली) सम्बोधन का प्रयोग सीता के रूप की प्रशंसा और उन्हें रिझाने के लिए है। राक्षसियाँ यह तर्क दे रही हैं कि रावण केवल एक राजा नहीं, बल्कि प्रकृति का नियंत्रक (Master of Nature) है, इसलिए उसे पति रूप में पाना सौभाग्य है।
