साधु ते तत्त्वतो देवि कथितं साधु भामिनि ।
गृहाण सुस्मिते वाक्यमन्यथा न भविष्यसि ।

sādhu te tattvato devi kathitaṃ sādhu bhāmini |
gṛhāṇa susmite vākyamanyathā na bhaviṣyasi ॥5-21-19॥
Translation
"O noble lady, O beautiful one, we have spoken what is good and true to you. O one with a sweet smile, accept our words; otherwise, you shall not exist."

"हे देवि! हे भामिनि! हमने तुमसे हितकारी और यथार्थ (सत्य) बात कही है। हे सुंदर मुस्कान वाली! हमारे वचन को स्वीकार करो, अन्यथा तुम जीवित नहीं रहोगी।"
English Commentary
This verse serves as a chilling ultimatum concluding the 21st Sarga. After listing all the 'benefits' of marrying Ravana, the Rakshasis drop the pretense. They claim their advice is 'sādhu' (good/virtuous) and 'tattvato' (factual). The final phrase 'anyathā na bhaviṣyasi' is a direct death threat—literally "otherwise you will not be." It contrasts sharply with the affectionate address 'susmite' (sweet smiling one), creating a terrifying dichotomy: choose Ravana and smile, or refuse and cease to exist.

यह सर्ग २१ का अंतिम श्लोक है और इसमें स्पष्ट धमकी दी गई है। पहले 'साधु' (हितकारी) शब्द से समझाया, फिर 'तत्त्वतो' (यथार्थ) बताया। अंत में 'अन्यथा न भविष्यसि' (वरना तुम नहीं रहोगी) कहकर मृत्यु का भय दिखाया गया है। 'सुस्मिते' (सुंदर मुस्कान वाली) कहकर वे शायद यह जता रही हैं कि यदि वह जीवित रहना और मुस्कुराना चाहती हैं, तो बात मान लें। यहाँ 'साम' (समझाना) समाप्त होता है और 'दंड' (सजा) का भय आरम्भ होता है।
