रावणस्य गृहे रुधा अस्माभिस्तु सुरक्षिता ।
न त्वां शक्तः परित्रातुमपि साक्षात्पुरन्दरः ।
।
॥५-२२-२६॥
Rāvaṇasya gṛhe rudhā asmābhistu surakṣitā |
Na tvāṃ śaktaḥ paritrātumapi sākṣātpurandaraḥ ॥5-22-26॥
Translation
Confined in Ravana's house and well-guarded by us, even Purandara (Indra) himself is not able to save you.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तुम रावण के घर में कैद हो और हमारे (राक्षसियों) द्वारा सुरक्षित (घिरी हुई) हो। अब साक्षात् इंद्र (पुरंदर) भी तुम्हें बचाने में समर्थ नहीं हैं।
English Commentary
Vikata concludes her threat by asserting the absolute impossibility of rescue. Being ruddha (confined/obstructed) in Ravana’s house and guarded by terrible demonesses makes Sita’s situation dire. To crush any lingering hope, Vikata invokes the name of Purandara (Indra, the destroyer of forts). By claiming that even the King of Gods cannot breach their security to save her, she dismisses the possibility of Rama—a mere human in her eyes—ever succeeding. It represents the height of Rakshasa arrogance, believing their power supersedes divine intervention.

धमकी का यह चरमोत्कर्ष है। विकटा कहती है कि सीता 'रुद्धा' (कैद) हैं और राक्षसियों के पहरे में हैं। वह सीता के मन से राम की आशा तो दूर, देवताओं की आशा भी मिटाना चाहती है। वह दावा करती है कि 'साक्षात् पुरंदर' (स्वयं इंद्र) भी आ जाएं तो सीता को नहीं बचा सकते। यह लंका के अहंकार का प्रतीक है। जब वे इंद्र को भी तुच्छ मानती हैं, तो राम (जो उनके लिए केवल एक वनवासी मनुष्य हैं) की क्या बिसात? यह श्लोक सीता के पूर्ण एकाकीपन और रावण की कथित अजेयता को स्थापित करता है।
