इमां हरिणलोकाक्षीं त्रासोत्कम्पपयोधराम् ।
रावणेन हृतां दृष्ट्वा दौर्हृदो मे महानभूत् ।
।
॥५-२२-३४॥
Imāṃ hariṇalokākṣīṃ trāsotkampapayodharām । Rāvaṇena hṛtāṃ dṛṣṭvā daurhṛdo me mahānabhūt । । ॥5-22-34॥
Translation
Seeing this doe-eyed woman, her breasts trembling with fear, abducted by Ravana, a great longing has arisen in me.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रावण द्वारा हरी गई इस मृगनयनी को, जिसके स्तन डर के मारे काँप रहे हैं, देखकर मुझे भारी दोहद (गर्भवती स्त्री की तरह खाने की लालसा) उत्पन्न हो गया है।
English Commentary
The imagery here is predatory. Sita is described as hariṇalokākṣīṃ (doe-eyed), casting her as the prey. The Rakshasi observes Sita's physical trembling from terror not with empathy, but with appetite. The use of the word daurhṛda is chilling; typically referring to the cravings of a pregnant woman, here it signifies an uncontrollable, visceral urge to consume human flesh. Sita's vulnerability acts as a trigger for the demoness's cannibalistic instincts.

यह श्लोक अत्यंत वीभत्स है। राक्षसी सीता की शारीरिक सुंदरता और उनके भय का आनंद ले रही है। सीता जी को 'हरिणलोकाक्षीं' (हिरण जैसी आँखों वाली) कहना यहाँ शिकार की उपमा है। 'दौर्हृद' शब्द का प्रयोग आमतौर पर गर्भावस्था की इच्छाओं के लिए होता है, लेकिन यहाँ इसका प्रयोग नरभक्षण की तीव्र लालसा के लिए किया गया है। सीता का डर राक्षसी की भूख को और बढ़ा रहा है, जो राक्षसी प्रवृत्ति की परम क्रूरता को दर्शाता है।
