यदिदं लोकविद्विष्टमुदाहरथ सङ्गताः ।
नैतन्मनसि वाक्यं मे किल्बिषं प्रतितिष्ठति ।

yadidaṃ lokavidviṣṭamudāharatha saṅgatāḥ |
naitanmanasi vākyaṃ me kilbiṣaṃ pratitiṣṭhati ॥5-22-6॥
Translation
What you all have spoken together is detested by the world; this sinful speech does not find a place in my mind.

तुम सबने मिलकर जो यह लोक-निन्दित (संसार में घृणित) बात कही है, यह पापपूर्ण वाक्य मेरे मन में स्थान नहीं पा रहा है (मैं इसे स्वीकार नहीं कर सकती)।
English Commentary
Sita rejects the Rakshasis' proposition not just as personally distasteful, but as objectively evil ('kilbiṣam') and universally condemned ('lokavidviṣṭam'). She asserts that their words cannot penetrate her mind, implying a shield of righteousness that protects her inner self from their corruption. By labeling their suggestion as "hated by the world," she reaffirms the moral order (Dharma) that the Rakshasis are trying to subvert. It is a powerful declaration of mental autonomy: you can surround my body, but you cannot pollute my mind.

सीता जी ने राक्षसियों के प्रस्ताव को 'लोकविद्विष्टम्' (संसार द्वारा घृणित) और 'किल्बिषं' (पापपूर्ण) कहा है। मानव पत्नी का राक्षस से विवाह धर्म और लोक-मर्यादा के विरुद्ध है। सीता स्पष्ट करती हैं कि उनका मन पवित्र है, इसलिए ऐसे अधार्मिक विचार वहां टिक ही नहीं सकते ('न प्रतितिष्ठति')। यह सीता की नैतिक दृढ़ता को दर्शाता है; वे डरने के बजाय राक्षसियों को धर्म का पाठ पढ़ा रही हैं कि उनका प्रस्ताव अनैतिक और स्वीकार करने योग्य नहीं है। यह बुराई के समक्ष अच्छाई का अस्वीकार है।
