ततो निहतनथानां राक्षसीनां गृहे गृहे ।
यथाहमेवं रुदती तथा भूयो न संशयः ।
अन्विष्य रक्षसां लङ्कां कुर्याद्रामः सलक्ष्मणः ।

Tato nihatanathānāṃ rākṣasīnāṃ gṛhe gṛhe |
Yathāhamevaṃ rudatī tathā bhūyo na saṃśayaḥ |
Anviṣya rakṣasāṃ laṅkāṃ kuryādrāmaḥ salakṣmaṇaḥ ॥5-24-23॥
Translation
Then, as Rama and Lakshmana hunt down the demons in Lanka, in every house, Rakshasis with slain husbands will weep just as I am weeping now; there is no doubt about this.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब, लंका में राक्षसों को ढूँढ-ढूँढ कर राम और लक्ष्मण जब उनका संहार करेंगे, तो घर-घर में जिनके पति मारे गए हैं, ऐसी राक्षसियाँ मेरी ही तरह रोएँगी, इसमें कोई संदेह नहीं है।
English Commentary
Sita projects her current grief onto the future of Lanka's women. She foresees a reversal of fortunes. Just as she is weeping today, the Rakshasa women will weep in every house (grihe grihe) when Rama and Lakshmana hunt down (anvishya) and slay their husbands. The phrase na samshayah (no doubt) reinforces her certainty. It paints a grim picture of the impending war, where the sorrow of one woman (Sita) will be multiplied into the sorrow of an entire city of demonesses.

सीता जी अपने वर्तमान दुख का प्रतिबिंब भविष्य की लंका में देखती हैं। आज वह रो रही हैं क्योंकि वे अपने पति से दूर हैं; कल लंका की राक्षसियाँ रोएँगी क्योंकि उनके पति मारे जा चुके होंगे ('निहतनथानां')। 'गृहे गृहे' (घर-घर में) विलाप होगा। यह प्रतिशोध की भावना नहीं, बल्कि 'कर्मफल' का विधान है। जैसा दुख उन्होंने दिया है, वैसा ही उन्हें मिलेगा। सीता जी आश्वस्त हैं ('न संशयः') कि राम और लक्ष्मण लंका को छान मारेंगे और न्याय करेंगे।
