Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अचिरेणैव कालेन प्राप्स्याम्येव मनोरथम् ।
दुष्प्रस्थानोऽयमाख्याति सर्वेषां वो विपर्ययः ।
।
॥५-२४-२५॥
Acireṇaiva kālena prāpsyāmyeva manoratham |
Duṣprasthāno'yamākhyāti sarveṣāṃ vo viparyayaḥ ॥5-24-25॥
Translation
Very soon, I shall indeed attain my desire (reunion with Rama). This evil conduct and these bad omens foretell a complete reversal of fortune and destruction for all of you.

शीघ्र ही मैं अपने मनोरथ (श्रीराम से मिलन) को प्राप्त करूँगी। यह जो तुम्हारा बुरा आचरण और लंका में दिखाई देने वाले अपशकुन हैं, वे तुम सबके विनाश की सूचना दे रहे हैं।
English Commentary
In this verse, despite her precarious situation, Sita demonstrates a profound spiritual confidence. She asserts that her reunion with Rama is imminent. More importantly, she serves as a voice of karmic justice to her tormentors. She points out that their "evil start" or bad conduct (duṣprasthāna) creates a trajectory that can only end in destruction. It is a powerful moment where the victim prophesies the doom of the oppressors based on the universal law that adharma (unrighteousness) breeds its own destruction. Sita reads the atmosphere of Lanka not just as a captive, but as a moral authority, understanding that the collective sins of the Rakshasas have signaled a cosmic reversal (viparyaya) of their fortunes.

इस श्लोक में माता सीता का आत्मविश्वास और भविष्यदृष्टि प्रकट होती है। यद्यपि वे राक्षसियों से घिरी हुई हैं और अत्यंत दुखी हैं, फिर भी उनका अंतर्मन यह जानता है कि अधर्म का अंत निश्चित है। वे राक्षसियों को चेतावनी देती हैं कि उनका 'दुष्प्रस्थान'—यानी उनकी बुरी चाल और अधार्मिक व्यवहार—ही उनके विनाश का कारण बनेगा। सीता जी यहाँ केवल एक भयभीत स्त्री नहीं, बल्कि धर्म की शक्ति का प्रतीक हैं। वे यह संकेत दे रही हैं कि रावण का पाप और राक्षसियों की क्रूरता उस सीमा को पार कर चुकी है जहाँ से पतन निश्चित है। "विपर्ययः" शब्द का अर्थ है कि जो अभी शक्तिशाली दिख रहे हैं, वे जल्द ही शक्तिहीन हो जाएंगे, और जो (सीता) अभी शक्तिहीन दिख रही हैं, वे विजयी होंगी।
