यदि नाम स शूरो मां रामो रक्तान्तलोचनः ।
जानीयाद्वर्तमानां हि रावणस्य निवेशने ।

Yadi nāma sa śūro māṃ rāmo raktāntalocanaḥ |
Jānīyādvartamānāṃ hi rāvaṇasya niveśane ॥5-24-31॥
Translation
If only that brave Rama, with eyes reddened at the corners, knew that I was present here in Ravana's abode.

यदि वे शूरवीर और लाल नेत्रों वाले श्रीराम यह जान लेते कि मैं रावण के घर में मौजूद हूँ (तो वे क्षण भर भी विलंब न करते)।
English Commentary
After predicting Lanka's fall, Sita returns to the agony of the present moment. The conditional "If only" (yadi nāma) reveals the tragedy of her situation: the solution (Rama) exists, but the connection is missing. She describes Rama as śūro (brave) and raktāntalocanaḥ (red-cornered eyes—a sign of beauty and martial fury). She knows that Rama's inaction is only due to his ignorance of her location, not a lack of will or power. This verse serves as a dramatic irony, as the audience knows Hanuman is watching, ready to bridge this very gap of information that causes her such despair.

भविष्यवाणियों के बाद, सीता जी पुनः अपनी वर्तमान विवशता पर लौट आती हैं। यहाँ "यदि" (If) शब्द उनकी पीड़ा की गहराई को दिखाता है। उन्हें श्रीराम के सामर्थ्य पर संदेह नहीं है, केवल इस बात का दुःख है कि श्रीराम को उनका पता नहीं मालूम। "रक्तान्तलोचनः" (जिनकी आँखों के कोने लाल हैं) श्रीराम के सौंदर्य और वीर रस दोनों का वर्णन करता है। लाल नेत्र क्रोध और पौरुष का प्रतीक हैं। सीता जी सोचती हैं कि यदि श्रीराम को पता होता, तो वे अपने क्रोध से रावण को भस्म कर देते। यह श्लोक वियोग और संचारहीनता (lack of communication) की उस वेदना को व्यक्त करता है जो सीता जी सह रही हैं।
