अनेन तु नृशंसेन रावणेनाधमेन मे ।
समयो यस्तु निर्दिष्टस्तस्य कालोऽयमागतः ।
।

Anena tu nṛśaṃsena rāvaṇenādhamena me |
Samayo yastu nirdiṣṭastasya kālo'yamāgataḥ ॥5-24-32॥
Translation
The time limit that was designated for me by this cruel and base Ravana has now arrived.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इस क्रूर और नीच रावण ने मेरे लिए जो समय (अवधि) निर्धारित किया था, वह समय अब आ पहुँचा है।
English Commentary
Sita reflects on the deadline set by Ravana. The demon king had given her a specific period to yield to him or face death (being eaten). She realizes that this samayo (time/deadline) has arrived (āgataḥ). Her description of Ravana as nṛśaṃsena (cruel/injurious to men) and adhamena (vilest/lowest) highlights her utter contempt for him. This verse creates a sense of urgency and ticking time. It explains why her thoughts are turning toward death—not just out of sadness, but because she believes her execution is procedurally imminent according to the ultimatum given by her captor.

सीता जी यहाँ रावण द्वारा दी गई समय-सीमा (deadline) को याद कर रही हैं। रावण ने उन्हें कुछ मास का समय दिया था कि या तो वे उसे स्वीकार करें अन्यथा उनका वध कर दिया जाएगा। सीता जी को लग रहा है कि वह समय अब समाप्त होने वाला है और श्रीराम अभी तक नहीं आए। वे रावण के लिए "नृशंसेन" (क्रूर) और "अधमेन" (नीच) जैसे विशेषणों का प्रयोग करती हैं, जो उनके प्रति सीता की घृणा को दर्शाते हैं। यह श्लोक उस मानसिक दबाव (psychological pressure) को उजागर करता है जिसके तहत सीता जी जी रही हैं—मृत्यु की एक निश्चित तारीख उनके सिर पर मंडरा रही है।
