एवमुक्ता तु वैदेही राक्षसीभिर्मनस्विनी ।
उवाच परमत्रस्ता बाष्पगद्गदया गिरा ।

uvāca paramatrastā bāṣpagadgadayā girā ॥5-25-2॥
Translation
Addressed thus by the demonesses, Vaidehi, though high-minded, spoke with a voice choked with tears, being extremely terrified.
हिंदी अनुवाद
राक्षसियों द्वारा इस प्रकार कहे जाने पर, मनस्विनी (दृढ़ मन वाली) वैदेही अत्यंत भयभीत होने पर भी, आंसुओं से रुंधे हुए कंठ से बोलीं।
English Commentary
The adjective manasvinī (high-minded or spirited) is critical here. Even though Sita is paramatrastā (terrified) and her voice is faltering due to tears, she retains her presence of mind. She chooses to respond rather than cower in silence. This verse illustrates the duality of her condition: physically vulnerable and emotionally overwhelmed, yet spiritually and intellectually resilient. It foreshadows her refusal to submit in the next verse. It reminds the reader that this is the wife of the warrior Rama, possessing her own quiet fortitude amidst terror.
