निरुद्धा रावणेनाहमल्पवीर्येण रक्षसा ।
समर्थः खलु मे भर्ता रावणं हन्तुमाहवे ।

niruddhā rāvaṇenāhamalpavīryeṇa rakṣasā |
samarthaḥ khalu me bhartā rāvaṇaṃ hantumāhave ॥5-26-15॥
Translation
I am confined by Ravana, a demon of little valor. Indeed, my husband is capable of killing Ravana in battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं अल्प-वीर्य (कम ताकतवर) राक्षस रावण द्वारा यहाँ कैद की गई हूँ। निश्चय ही मेरे पति युद्ध में रावण को मारने में समर्थ हैं।
English Commentary
Despite being a captive, Sita belittles her captor, calling Ravana alpavīryeṇa (of little valor/strength). This stems from her knowledge that Ravana avoided direct confrontation with Rama. She asserts Rama's superiority with the phrase samarthaḥ khalu (indeed capable). By juxtaposing Ravana's weakness with Rama's capability, she reaffirms that her rescue is militarily possible, keeping a flicker of hope alive amidst her lamentation. The only barrier is the distance and lack of information, not the enemy's strength.

सीता जी रावण को 'अल्पवीर्य' (कमज़ोर/तुच्छ पराक्रम वाला) कहते हैं। यह अद्भुत है क्योंकि रावण ने तीनों लोकों को जीता है, किन्तु राम के सामने सीता उसे मच्छर समान मानती हैं। वे जानती हैं कि रावण ने उन्हें धोखे से हरण किया है, युद्ध में जीतकर नहीं। 'समर्थः खलु' (निश्चय ही समर्थ हैं) - यह उनका दृढ़ विश्वास है। समस्या शक्ति संतुलन की नहीं है, बस राम के आने भर की देर है। यह श्लोक सीता के राम-निष्ठ विश्वास को पुनः रेखांकित करता है।
