यदि नाम स शूरो मां रामो रक्तान्तलोचनः ।
जानीयाद्वर्तमानां हि रावणस्य निवेशने ।

Yadi nāma sa śūro māṃ rāmo raktāntalocanaḥ |
Jānīyādvartamānāṃ hi rāvaṇasya niveśane ॥5-26-33॥
Translation
If only that brave Rama, possessing eyes with red corners, knew that I am currently present here in Ravana's abode.

यदि वे लाल नेत्रों वाले शूरवीर श्री राम यह जान जाएं कि मैं रावण के घर में हूँ (तो वे क्षण भर भी विलंब न करें)।
English Commentary
After prophesying doom for Lanka, Sita returns to the agonizing reality of her isolation. The operative phrase is yadi nama (if only). Her faith in Rama is absolute—she calls him shura (hero/brave)—but she recognizes the logistical tragedy: he simply does not know where she is. She visualizes him as raktantalocana (with red-cornered eyes), a classic mark of beauty and vitality in Indian poetics, but also perhaps reflecting her memory of his fierce protective nature. This verse highlights the 'tragedy of ignorance'—the only thing standing between her and rescue is a piece of information. It bridges the gap between her confident prophecies and her personal despair.

पिछले श्लोकों में लंका के विनाश की भविष्यवाणी करने के बाद, सीता जी पुनः अपनी वर्तमान विवशता पर लौट आती हैं। यहाँ 'यदि' (If) शब्द उनकी पीड़ा का केंद्र है। उन्हें राम के शौर्य ('शूरः') पर पूरा भरोसा है, परन्तु समस्या संचार (communication) की है। वे राम को 'रक्तान्तलोचनः' (जिसकी आँखों के कोने लाल हैं) कहकर याद करती हैं—यह सामुद्रिक शास्त्र के अनुसार महापुरुष का लक्षण है और राम के क्रोध व सौंदर्य दोनों का प्रतीक है। सीता जी जानती हैं कि राम की निष्क्रियता का कारण कायरता नहीं, बल्कि अज्ञानता (सीता के स्थान का पता न होना) है। यह श्लोक विरह की वेदना और आशा के द्वंद्व को दर्शाता है।
