प्रियान्न संभवेद्दुःखमप्रियादधिकं भयम् ।
ताभ्यां हि ये वियुज्यन्ते नमस्तेषां महात्मनाम् ।
।
॥५-२६-५०॥
Priyānna saṃbhavedduḥkhamapriyādadhikaṃ bhayam |
Tābhyāṃ hi ye viyujyante namasteṣāṃ mahātmanām ॥5-26-50॥
Translation
From the beloved arises sorrow; from the unloved arises great fear. Salutations to those great souls who are detached from both of these.
हिंदी अनुवाद
(क्योंकि) प्रिय से बिछुड़ने पर दुःख होता है और अप्रिय से बहुत अधिक भय उत्पन्न होता है। जो इन दोनों (प्रिय और अप्रिय) से मुक्त हैं, उन महात्माओं को मेरा नमस्कार है।
English Commentary
Sita articulates a profound psychological truth found in Dharma texts: Attachment leads to suffering (dukkha), and aversion leads to fear (bhaya). Because she loves Rama, she suffers in his absence. Because she despises Ravana, she lives in constant terror. She is caught in the trap of duality. She offers her obeisance (namas) to those who have severed these bonds (viyujyante), acknowledging that their state of equanimity is superior to her current state of emotional turmoil. It is a moment of spiritual humility amidst emotional chaos.

यह श्लोक पिछले श्लोक का स्पष्टीकरण है। सीता जी मनोविज्ञान का एक सार्वभौमिक सत्य बता रही हैं: 'प्रियान्न संभवेद्दुःखम्' (प्रिय से ही दुःख उत्पन्न होता है—वियोग के समय) और 'अप्रियादधिकं भयम्' (अप्रिय वस्तु/व्यक्ति से भय उत्पन्न होता है—जैसे रावण से)। सीता जी वर्तमान में इन दोनों के बीच फँसी हैं—राम (प्रिय) का वियोग उन्हें दुःख दे रहा है, और रावण (अप्रिय) का सानिध्य उन्हें भय दे रहा है। इसलिए, वे उन मुक्त आत्माओं को नमन ('नमस्तेषां') करती हैं जो इस चक्र से बाहर निकल चुके हैं। यह उनकी अपनी स्थिति की असहायता को स्वीकार करना है।
