इत्युक्ताः सीतया घोरा राक्षस्यः क्रोधमूर्च्छिताः ।
काश्चिज्जग्मुस्तदाख्यातुं रावणस्य तरस्विनः ।

ityuktāḥ sītayā ghorā rākṣasyaḥ krodhamūrcchitāḥ |
kāścijjagmustadākhyātuṃ rāvaṇasya tarasvinaḥ ॥5-27-1॥
Translation
Upon being addressed thus by Sita, those terrible ogresses became senseless with anger. Some of them immediately departed to report this matter to the swift/powerful Ravana.

सीता जी के द्वारा ऐसा कहे जाने पर, वे भयानक राक्षसियाँ क्रोध से पागल हो उठीं। उनमें से कुछ वेगवान रावण को यह बात बताने के लिए चली गईं।
English Commentary
This verse captures the immediate aftermath of Sita’s steadfast refusal to yield to Ravana's demands despite the threats of his guards. The phrase krodhamūrcchitāḥ (senseless with anger) highlights the volatile and vicious nature of the Rakshasis, who cannot comprehend Sita’s devotion to Dharma and her husband. The departure of some guards to inform Ravana escalates the tension, as it implies that the deadline given to Sita is effectively over, and the threat of execution or torture is now imminent. It sets a scene of heightened peril for the princess.

इस श्लोक में सीता के दृढ़ संकल्प और रावण को अस्वीकार करने के साहस का परिणाम दिखाया गया है। सीता जी ने राक्षसियों की धमकियों के आगे झुकने से साफ़ मना कर दिया, जिससे वे क्रोधित हो उठीं। यहाँ 'क्रोधमूर्च्छिताः' शब्द राक्षसियों की तामसिक और हिंसक प्रवृत्ति को दर्शाता है, जो तर्क या धर्म को न समझकर केवल बल और भय की भाषा जानती हैं। कुछ राक्षसियों का रावण के पास जाना यह सूचित करता है कि वे सीता को मनाने में अपनी असफलता स्वीकार कर चुकी थीं और अब अपने राजा के आदेश की प्रतीक्षा कर रही थीं। यह सीता के लिए खतरे के बढ़ने का संकेत है।
