एवं तत्र मया दृष्टः कुम्भकर्णो निशाचरः ।
रावणस्य सुताः सर्वे दृष्टास्तैलसमुक्षिताः ।

५.२७.२९।। ॥५-२७-२९॥
evaṃ tatra mayā dṛṣṭaḥ kumbhakarṇo niśācaraḥ |
rāvaṇasya sutāḥ sarve dṛṣṭāstailasamukṣitāḥ ॥5-27-29॥
Translation
"In that manner, I saw the night-ranger Kumbhakarna there. And all the sons of Ravana were seen by me drenched in oil."

"वहाँ मैंने निशाचर कुम्भकर्ण को भी इसी अवस्था में देखा। और रावण के सभी पुत्र भी मुझे तेल से सराबोर दिखाई दिए।"
English Commentary
The prophecy expands from the individual to the dynasty. Kumbhakarna, Ravana's brother and greatest warrior, along with Ravana's sons, shares the same ominous marker: being drenched in oil (tailasamukṣitāḥ). This signifies a collective doom. In the context of Dharma, the sins of the king often bring ruin upon his kin, especially when they support his Adharma. The dream confirms that the upcoming war will be a massacre of the entire Rakshasa leadership, leaving no heir to the throne.

रावण के बाद अब उसके कुल के विनाश का दृश्य है। कुम्भकर्ण, जो रावण का सबसे बड़ा बल था, और रावण के पुत्र (मेघनाद आदि), सभी 'तैलसमुक्षिताः' (तेल में भीगे हुए) हैं। जैसा पहले बताया गया, मृत्यु के पूर्व तेल का लेप एक अपशकुन है। यह दर्शाता है कि यह युद्ध केवल एक राजा का अंत नहीं, बल्कि पूरे राक्षस वंश का समूल नाश होगा। सीता के प्रति अपराध में मौन सहमति या सक्रिय भागीदारी के कारण पूरा परिवार दंड का भागी बन रहा है।
