शुक्लमाल्याम्बरधरः शुक्लगन्धानुलेपनः ।
शङ्खदुन्दुभिनिर्घोषैर्नृत्तगीतैरलङ्कृतः ।

śuklamālyāmbaradharaḥ śuklagandhānulepanaḥ |
śaṅkhadundubhinirghoṣairnṛttagītairalaṅkṛtaḥ ॥5-27-32॥
Translation
"He was wearing white garlands and garments, smeared with white unguents, and was adorned with the sounds of conches and drums, and with dance and song."

"वह श्वेत माला और वस्त्र धारण किए हुए था, शरीर पर श्वेत चन्दन का लेप था, और शंख तथा दुन्दुभी की ध्वनि एवं नाच-गाने से सुशोभित (सत्कार प्राप्त) था।"
English Commentary
Vibhishana's appearance mirrors Rama's earlier description, aligning him with the forces of light. Every detail—white garlands, white scents (śuklagandha)—stands in direct opposition to Ravana's red/black death imagery. The accompaniment of śaṅkha (conch) and dundubhi (drums) suggests a coronation ceremony or a victory procession. This auditory imagery adds to the auspicious atmosphere surrounding Vibhishana, highlighting that he is the future of the Rakshasa race, purified of its sins.

विभीषण का यह वर्णन राम के वर्णन (श्लोक 10) से काफी मिलता-जुलता है। श्वेत (शुक्ल) रंग की प्रधानता सत्व गुण और पवित्रता को दर्शाती है। शंख और दुन्दुभी 'मांगल्य' (शुभता) और विजय के वाद्य हैं, जो मृत्यु के सन्नाटे या रोदन के विपरीत हैं। यह दृश्य राज्याभिषेक के उत्सव जैसा है। त्रिजटा यह स्पष्ट कर रही है कि सीता का पक्ष लेने वाला व्यक्ति (विभीषण) ही अंततः सुखी और सम्मानित होगा।
