लङ्कां चेयं पुरी रम्या सवाजिरथकुञ्जरा ।
सागरे पतिता दृष्टा भग्नगोपुरतोरणा ।

laṅkāṃ ceyaṃ purī ramyā savājirathakuñjarā |
sāgare patitā dṛṣṭā bhagnagopuratoraṇā ॥5-27-35॥
Translation
"And this beautiful city of Lanka, teeming with horses, chariots, and elephants, was seen by me fallen into the ocean, with its city gates and arches broken."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"घोड़ों, रथों और हाथियों से युक्त यह रमणीय लंका नगरी मुझे टूटे हुए द्वारों (गोपुर) और तोरणों सहित समुद्र में गिरी हुई (डूबी हुई) दिखाई दी।"
English Commentary
The vision zooms out from the individuals to the city itself. Lanka, described as ramyā (delightful/beautiful), undergoes total destruction. The imagery of it being "fallen into the ocean" (sāgare patitā) suggests being swallowed by the elements, a return to chaos. The shattering of gopura (gates) and toraṇa (arches) symbolizes the breach of defenses and the collapse of civic order. It is a prophetic vision of the physical devastation that will result from the war.

यह लंका दहन और उसके विध्वंस का चित्र है। 'सागरे पतिता' (सागर में गिरी हुई) का अर्थ है पूर्ण विनाश। सोने की लंका, जिस पर रावण को गर्व था, वह अपने वैभव (वाजी, रथ, कुंजर) सहित नष्ट हो रही है। 'भग्नगोपुरतोरणा' (टूटे हुए द्वार और तोरण) सुरक्षा व्यवस्था के ध्वस्त होने का संकेत है। स्वप्न यह बताता है कि अधर्म की नींव पर खड़ा राज्य, चाहे कितना भी समृद्ध और शक्तिशाली क्यों न हो, उसका पतन निश्चित है।
