Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
भर्त्सितामपि याचध्वं राक्षस्यः किं विवक्षया ।
राघवाद्धि भयं घोरं राक्षसानामुपस्थितम् ।
।
॥५-२७-४३॥
Bhartsitāmapi yācadhvaṃ rākṣasyaḥ kiṃ vivakṣayā । Rāghavāddhi bhayaṃ ghoraṃ rākṣasānāmupasthitam । । ॥5-27-43॥
Translation
O Rakshasis! Even though you have threatened her, beg her for mercy now. What is the use of discussing this further? For a terrible fear from Raghava has arrived for the Rakshasas.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे राक्षसियों! यद्यपि तुम लोगों ने इसे बहुत डराया-धमकाया है, फिर भी अब तुम इसी से याचना (प्रार्थना) करो। अधिक बोलने से क्या लाभ? क्योंकि राक्षसों के लिए राम से घोर भय उपस्थित हो गया है।
English Commentary
Trijata emphasizes urgency and pragmatism. She anticipates the Rakshasis' hesitation to beg forgiveness from someone they were just abusing. She cuts through their pride by asking, "What is the use of talking?" debating the logic is futile when annihilation is imminent. The "terrible fear" (Bhayam ghoram) refers to the certainty of Rama's invasion. Trijata is essentially telling them to swallow their pride to save their lives, reinforcing that Sita is their only conduit to safety in the face of the approaching catastrophe.

इस श्लोक में 'आपातधर्म' (emergency duty) का भाव है। त्रिजटा कहती है कि अब तर्क-वितर्क ('किं विवक्षया') का समय नहीं है। भले ही अतीत में तुमने गलतियाँ की हों और सीता को कष्ट दिया हो, अहंकार छोड़कर पैरों में गिरना ही अब एकमात्र विकल्प है। 'राघवाद्धि भयं घोरं'—राम का भय अब काल्पनिक नहीं, बल्कि दरवाजे पर खड़ा है। त्रिजटा का स्वर अब आदेशात्मक है; वह जानती है कि विनाश आसन्न है और सीता की क्षमा ही एकमात्र कवच है जो उन्हें राम के बाणों से बचा सकती है।
