Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अथ तामब्रवीद्वीरो हनुमानग्रतः स्थिताम् ।
कथयिष्यामि ते तत्त्वम् यन्मम् त्वम् परिपृच्छसि ॥५-३-२५॥
atha tāmabravīdvīro hanumānagrataḥ sthitām |
kathayiṣyāmi te tattvam yanmam tvam paripṛcchasi ॥5-3-25॥
Translation
Then the hero Hanuman spoke to her who was standing in front: "I will tell you the truth regarding what you ask of me."
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब वीर हनुमान ने अपने आगे खड़ी उस (देवी) से कहा—"तुमने मुझसे जो पूछा है, वह सत्य मैं तुम्हें बता दूँगा।"
English Commentary
Hanuman's response characterizes his 'Veerya' (valour) and composure. Instead of immediately counter-attacking or fleeing, he engages in dialogue. He agrees to answer her question, showing that he is not intimidated by her death threat. His willingness to speak the truth ('tattvam') aligns him with Dharma, contrasting with the deceitful nature of the Rakshasas. He maintains the moral high ground.

हनुमान जी की प्रतिक्रिया संयम और वीरता का उदाहरण है। इतनी कठोर धमकी और अपमान के बाद भी वे क्रोधित नहीं हुए, बल्कि शांति से उत्तर दिया। उन्हें 'वीर' कहा गया है क्योंकि क्रोध को पी जाना ही असली वीरता है। वे सत्य बताने को तैयार हैं, जो उनकी निर्भयता को दर्शाता है—उन्हें अपना उद्देश्य छिपाने की आवश्यकता नहीं है क्योंकि उन्हें अपनी शक्ति पर विश्वास है। यह एक कूटनीतिक आरम्भ है।
