अहम् हि नगरी लङ्का स्वयमेव प्लवङ्गम ।
सर्वतः परिरक्षामि ह्येतत्ते कथितम् मया ॥५-३-३०॥
aham hi nagarī laṅkā svayameva plavaṅgama |
sarvataḥ parirakṣāmi hyetatte kathitam mayā ॥5-3-30॥
Translation
"O monkey! I am indeed the City of Lanka herself. I alone protect myself on all sides. I have told you this."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"हे वानर (प्लवंगम)! मैं स्वयं 'लंका' नगरी हूँ। मैं ही सब ओर से अपनी रक्षा करती हूँ। मैंने तुम्हें यह (सत्य) बता दिया है।"
English Commentary
The identity is fully revealed: "Aham hi nagari Lanka" (I am indeed the city Lanka). This confirms that she is the genius loci, the presiding deity. The verse "I protect myself on all sides" implies she is omnipresent within the city walls. This revelation elevates the conflict from a physical skirmish to a symbolic battle: the force of Divine Will (Hanuman) versus the entrenched spirit of Adharma (Lanka).

रहस्योद्घाटन पूर्ण हुआ। वह स्वीकार करती है कि वह कोई प्रहरी नहीं, अपितु स्वयं 'लंका' है। एक नगरी का स्वयं अपनी रक्षा करना उसकी शक्ति और रावण की तपस्या के प्रभाव को दर्शाता है। 'प्लवंगम' संबोधन में फिर से वानर जाति के प्रति उपेक्षा का भाव है (उछलने-कूदने वाला)। अब हनुमान जी जान गए हैं कि उनका युद्ध किसी व्यक्ति से नहीं, बल्कि एक स्थान (Place) की सामूहिक चेतना और शक्ति से है।
