मामनिर्जत्य दुर्बद्धे राक्षसेश्वरपालिता ।
न शक्यमद्य ते द्रष्टुम् पुरीयम् वनराधम ॥ ॥५-३-३६॥
māmanirjitya durbuddhe rākṣaseśvarapālitā |
na śakyamadya te draṣṭum purīyam vanarādhama ॥5-3-36॥
Translation
"O evil-minded one, lowest of monkeys! It is impossible for you to see this city today, which is protected by the King of Rakshasas, without first conquering me."

(वह बोली) "रे दुर्बुद्धि वानराधम! राक्षसेश्वर रावण द्वारा पालित मुझको जीते बिना, आज तेरे लिए इस पूरी (नगरी) को देखना संभव नहीं है।"
English Commentary
Lankini resorts to insults, calling Hanuman durbuddhe (fool/evil-minded) and vanarādhama (lowest of monkeys). Blinded by arrogance, she fails to recognize the divine strength standing before her. She explicitly lays down the condition: conflict is the only key to entry. This verse underscores the arrogance of the Rakshasa regime, believing themselves invincible. Her challenge, "without conquering me," ironically seals her fate, as she unwittingly invites the very defeat that will signal the fall of Ravana’s empire.

लंकिनी यहाँ हनुमान जी का अपमान करती है। वह उन्हें 'दुर्बुद्धि' (खराब बुद्धि वाला) और 'वानराधम' (वानरों में नीच) कहती है। अहंकार के कारण वह हनुमान जी के वास्तविक तेज को नहीं पहचान पाती। वह स्पष्ट चुनौती देती है कि लंका में प्रवेश का एकमात्र मार्ग उसे युद्ध में हराना है। यह रावण की सत्ता के प्रति उसकी वफादारी और उसके स्वयं के शक्ति-मद को दर्शाता है। नियति देखिए, जिसे वह 'असंभव' कह रही है, वही उसके पराभव का कारण बनेगा।
