Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तदा त्वया हि विज्ञेयं रक्षसां भयमागतम् ।
स हि मे समयः सौम्य प्राप्तोऽद्य तव दर्शनात् ॥ ॥५-३-४८॥
Tadā tvayā hi vijñeyaṃ rakṣasāṃ bhayamāgatam । Sa hi me samayaḥ saumya prāpto'dya tava darśanāt ॥ ॥5-3-48॥
Translation
'...then you must know that a time of fear (destruction) has arrived for the Rakshasas.' O gentle one, by your sight (appearance), that time has indeed arrived for me today.
हिंदी अनुवाद
'...तब तुम समझ लेना कि राक्षसों के लिए भय (विनाश) का समय आ गया है।' हे सौम्य! तुम्हारे दर्शन से आज मेरे लिए वह समय आ पहुँचा है।
English Commentary
Lankini completes the prophecy: the subjugation of the city's guardian signals the impending doom of the Rakshasa race. The phrase Rakshasam bhayamagatam implies that the era of Rakshasa invincibility is over. By stating that this time has arrived "by your sight" (tava darshanat), Lankini attributes a transformative power to Hanuman’s presence. It suggests that Hanuman is the catalyst for the epochal shift from Ravana's tyranny to his downfall. The use of the word Samaya (time/destined moment) indicates that in the grand scheme of Dharma, everyone and everything has a strictly allotted duration. Lankini realizes her watch has ended, and the wheels of destruction have been set in motion by the mere arrival of this divine Vanara.

लंकिनी यहाँ ब्रह्मा जी के वाक्य को पूरा करती है और वर्तमान स्थिति पर उसे लागू करती है। "राक्षसां भयमागतम्" का अर्थ है कि अब राक्षस जाति का विनाश निश्चित है। लंका की सुरक्षा पंक्ति का टूटना रावण के अंत का प्रारंभ है। लंकिनी हनुमान जी के 'दर्शन' को उस समय की समाप्ति मानती है। यहाँ 'दर्शन' शब्द का प्रयोग महत्वपूर्ण है; हनुमान जी को देखना ही लंकिनी के लिए सत्य का साक्षात्कार है। वह स्वीकार करती है कि ब्रह्मा का वचन कभी मिथ्या नहीं हो सकता। यह श्लोक रामायण के उस सिद्धांत को पुष्ट करता है जहाँ अधर्म का नाश सुनिश्चित है, और उसके संकेत पहले ही मिल जाते हैं। लंकिनी अब हनुमान जी को रोकने के बजाय, रावण के विनाश के साक्षी के रूप में स्वयं को प्रस्तुत कर रही है।
