ततो जातपरित्रासा शब्दं कुर्यान्मनस्विनी ।
जानमाना विशालाक्षी रावणं कामरूपिणम् ।
।
॥५-३०-२१॥
Tato jātaparitrāsā śabdaṃ kuryānmanasvinī । Jānamānā viśālākṣī rāvaṇaṃ kāmarūpiṇam । । ॥5-30-21॥
Translation
"Then, filled with fear, the large-eyed, high-minded lady might scream, thinking me to be Ravana, who can change his form at will."
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब भय उत्पन्न होने पर वह विशाल नेत्रों वाली मनस्विनी (सीता) मुझे कामरूपी (इच्छानुसार रूप बदलने वाला) रावण समझकर जोर से चिल्लाने लगेंगी।
English Commentary
The strategic analysis continues. Hanuman predicts the chain reaction: his appearance leads to fear, fear leads to the assumption that he is the shapeshifting (kāmarūpiṇam) Ravana, and that assumption leads to a scream. This verse highlights the precariousness of the situation. Sita is the "objective," but her reaction is the variable that could compromise the mission. Hanuman acknowledges that her fear is rational given her context, even if it is detrimental to his plan.

यहाँ हनुमान जी 'Worst Case Scenario' (सबसे बुरी संभावना) का चित्रण कर रहे हैं। 'कामरूपिणम्' शब्द महत्वपूर्ण है—राक्षस अपनी इच्छा से रूप बदलते हैं। सीता का यह सोचना स्वाभाविक होगा कि जो रावण अभी संन्यासी बनकर आया था, वही अब वानर बनकर आया है। यदि सीता चिल्ला पड़ीं (शब्दं कुर्यात्), तो हनुमान जी का पूरा 'कोवर्ट ऑपरेशन' (गुप्त अभियान) खतरे में पड़ जाएगा। एक दूत के लिए गोपनीयता बनाए रखना सबसे बड़ी चुनौती है।
