विमृशंश्च न पश्यामि यो हते मयि वानरः ।
शतयोजनविस्तीर्णं लङ्गयेत महोदधिम् ।

vimṛśaṃśca na paśyāmi yo hate mayi vānaraḥ । śatayojanavistīrṇaṃ laṅgayeta mahodadhiṃ । । 5.30.33।। ॥5-30-33॥
Translation
Even after deep reflection, I do not see any Vanara who could leap across this hundred-yojana wide great ocean if I were to be killed.
हिंदी अनुवाद
बहुत विचार करने पर भी, मेरे मारे जाने के बाद, मुझे ऐसा कोई वानर नहीं दिखता जो सौ योजन विस्तृत इस महासागर को लांघ सके।
English Commentary
Hanuman is considering the possibility of a 'replacement' and finds it to be nil. Jambavan had already clarified that only Hanuman was fully capable of this specific feat. While Angada had the strength, he was the crown prince and leader of the search party; risking him was against political strategy. Hanuman realizes he is the sole link connecting Rama to Sita. If this link breaks, the future is dark. This profound sense of responsibility restrains him from engaging in battle and compels him to use his intellect instead.

हनुमान जी यहाँ 'रिप्लेसमेंट' (प्रतिस्थापन) की संभावना पर विचार कर रहे हैं और पाते हैं कि वह शून्य है। जामवंत जी ने पहले ही स्पष्ट कर दिया था कि केवल हनुमान ही इस कार्य के लिए सक्षम हैं। अंगद में क्षमता थी, परन्तु वे दल के नेता (युवराज) थे और उनका जोखिम उठाना राजनीति के विरुद्ध था। हनुमान जी को यह अहसास है कि वे इस श्रृंखला की एकमात्र कड़ी हैं जो राम को सीता से जोड़ती है। यदि यह कड़ी टूट गई, तो भविष्य अंधकारमय है। यह दायित्व बोध उन्हें युद्ध से रोकता है और बुद्धि से काम लेने को प्रेरित करता है।
