Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
भूताश्चार्था विनश्यन्ति देशकालविरोधिताः ।
विक्लवं दूतमासाद्य तमः सूर्योदये यथा ।

bhūtāścārthā vinaśyanti deśakālavirodhitāḥ । viklavaṃ dūtamāsādya tamaḥ sūryodaye yathā । । 5.30.37।। ॥5-30-37॥
Translation
Just as darkness vanishes at sunrise, so too do accomplished tasks get destroyed if entrusted to a confused messenger who acts against the dictates of time and place.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जिस प्रकार सूर्योदय होने पर अन्धकार नष्ट हो जाता है, उसी प्रकार देश और काल के विरुद्ध कार्य करने वाले व्याकुल (अयोग्य) दूत को पाकर बने-बनाए (सिद्ध) कार्य भी नष्ट हो जाते हैं।
English Commentary
The simile here is profound. Just as sunlight obliterates the existence of darkness, a 'viklava' (confused or timid) messenger obliterates the success of a mission. The phrase 'desha-kala-virodhitah' is crucial—doing the right thing at the wrong time or place can ruin everything. Hanuman warns himself not to be that incompetent messenger. He implies that success depends not just on the message, but on the messenger's mental stability and ability to choose the correct timing and context.

यहाँ उपमा बहुत ही सुंदर और गंभीर है। जैसे सूर्य का प्रकाश अंधकार के अस्तित्व को मिटा देता है, वैसे ही एक 'विक्लव' (भ्रमित या डरपोक) दूत कार्य के अस्तित्व को मिटा देता है। यहाँ 'देशकालविरोधिता' महत्वपूर्ण है—सही बात को गलत समय या गलत जगह पर कहने से सब कुछ बिगड़ सकता है। हनुमान जी खुद को चेतावनी दे रहे हैं कि उन्हें वह 'विक्लव' दूत नहीं बनना है। उन्हें अपनी मानसिक स्थिरता बनाए रखनी होगी और सही क्षण (Time) और सही विधि (Place/Context) का चुनाव करना होगा।
