Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
कथं नु खलु वाक्यं मे श्रुणुयान्नोद्विजेत वा ।
इति संचिन्त्य हनुमांश्चकार मतिमान् मतिम् ।

kathaṃ nu khalu vākyaṃ me śruṇuyānnodvijeta vā । iti saṃcintya hanumāṃścakāra matimān matim । । 5.30.40।। ॥5-30-40॥
Translation
"How indeed might she listen to my words and not become agitated/frightened?" Thinking this over thoroughly, the wise Hanuman made up his mind.
हिंदी अनुवाद
"सीता मेरी बात कैसे सुनें और वे भयभीत न हों"—ऐसा भली-भांति सोचकर, बुद्धिमान हनुमान जी ने अपना मन (निर्णय) पक्का किया।
English Commentary
Having fully analyzed the problem, Hanuman now moves toward a solution. His primary challenge is communication. Sita is surrounded by demons, terrified, and seeing a Vanara might make her think it is another trick by Ravana. The epithet 'matiman' (wise) is used deliberately here because he chooses psychology over force. He decides that instead of jumping directly in front of her, he must first create an atmosphere of trust.

समस्या को पूरी तरह समझने के बाद अब हनुमान जी समाधान की ओर बढ़ रहे हैं। उनकी मुख्य चुनौती 'संवाद' (Communication) की है। सीता जी राक्षसों से घिरी हैं, डरी हुई हैं, और एक वानर को देखकर उन्हें लगेगा कि यह रावण की कोई नई चाल है। 'मतिमान' (बुद्धिमान) विशेषण यहाँ जानबूझकर उपयोग किया गया है, क्योंकि उन्होंने बल का नहीं, बल्कि मनोविज्ञान (Psychology) का सहारा लिया। उन्होंने तय किया कि वे सीधे सामने कूदने के बजाय, पहले वातावरण को विश्वासपूर्ण बनाएंगे।
