Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अहमाश्वासयाम्येनां पूर्णचन्द्रनिभाननाम् ।
अदृष्टदुःखां दुःखार्तां दुःखस्यान्तमगच्छतीम् ।
।
॥५-३०-७॥
Ahamāśvāsayāmyenāṃ pūrṇacandranibhānanām । Adṛṣṭaduḥkhāṃ duḥkhārtāṃ duḥkhasyāntamagacchatīm । । ॥5-30-7॥
Translation
I will console this lady whose face resembles the full moon. She, who had never experienced sorrow before, is now tormented by grief and sees no end to her suffering.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं पूर्ण चंद्रमा के समान मुख वाली, जिसने पहले कभी दुख नहीं देखा था (अदृष्टदुःखां), परन्तु जो अब दुख से पीड़ित है और जिसे अपने दुख का कोई अंत नहीं दिखाई दे रहा है, उस सीता को आश्वासन दूंगा।
English Commentary
Hanuman observes the tragedy of Sita’s situation through contrast. She is described as adṛṣṭaduḥkhāṃ—one who was never meant to see sorrow, having lived a life of royal comfort. Yet, she is now drowning in grief with no end in sight. The phrase pūrṇacandranibhānanām (face like a full moon) highlights her innate gentle nature, ill-suited for such harshness. Hanuman decides to intervene because she cannot see the "end of her grief" herself; he must show it to her.

इस श्लोक में सीता जी की वर्तमान दशा और उनके अतीत के विरोधाभास का मार्मिक चित्रण है। वे 'अदृष्टदुःखां' हैं—अर्थात राजमहल में पली-बढ़ीं जिन्होंने कभी कष्ट नहीं देखा—और अब वे 'दुःखस्यान्तमगच्छतीम्' हैं—अथाह सागर में डूबी हुई जहाँ किनारा (दुख का अंत) नहीं दिखता। हनुमान जी का संकल्प ('अहम् आश्वासयामि') यहाँ दृढ़ होता है। वे उस सुकुमार राजकुमारी को, जो कठोर परिस्थितियों के लिए नहीं बनी थीं, मानसिक संबल देने का निर्णय लेते हैं।
