तेन तत्र महारण्ये मृगयां परिधावता ।
राक्षसा निहताः शूरा बहवः कामरूपिणः ।

tena tatra mahāraṇye mṛgayām paridhāvatā । rākṣasā nihatāḥ śūrā bahavaḥ kāmarūpiṇaḥ । । 5.31.9।। ॥5-31-9॥
Translation
"There, wandering in that great forest while hunting, he killed many brave Rakshasas capable of changing their forms at will."
हिंदी अनुवाद
"वहाँ उस विशाल वन में शिकार (मृगया) के लिए भ्रमण करते हुए उन्होंने (राम ने) अनेक शूरवीर और इच्छाधारी (कामरूपी) राक्षसों का वध किया।"
English Commentary
Hanuman now narrates Rama's valor during the exile. Killing 'kamarupinah' (shape-shifting) Rakshasas is no easy feat, yet Rama slew them while 'roaming/hunting'—implying he did so with relative ease. This alludes to the destruction of Khara and Dushana in Janasthana. It reminds Sita that Rama has annihilated demon hordes before, so defeating Ravana is well within his power.

हनुमान जी अब राम के वनवास के पराक्रम का वर्णन कर रहे हैं। 'कामरूपिणः' (रूप बदलने वाले) राक्षसों का वध करना आसान नहीं होता, लेकिन राम ने 'मृगयां परिधावता' (शिकार करते हुए/सहज रूप से) उन्हें मार गिराया। यह जनस्थान में खर-दूषण वध की ओर संकेत है। यह सीता जी को याद दिलाता है कि राम ने पहले भी राक्षसों का नाश किया है, इसलिए रावण का वध भी उनके लिए असंभव नहीं है।
