विललाप भृशं सीता करुणं भयमोहिता ।
रामरामेति दुःखार्ता लक्ष्मणेति च भामिनी ।
।
॥५-३२-४॥
Vilalāpa bhṛśaṃ Sītā karuṇaṃ bhayamohitā । Rāma-rāmeti duḥkhārtā Lakṣmaṇeti ca bhāminī । । ॥5-32-4॥
Translation
Overwhelmed by fear and tormented by grief, the noble lady Sita lamented piteously, calling out repeatedly, "O Rama! O Rama! O Lakshmana!"
हिंदी अनुवाद
भय से मोहित और दुःख से पीड़ित वह भामिनी (सीता) करुण स्वर में विलाप करने लगीं और "हा राम! हा राम! हा लक्ष्मण!"—इस प्रकार पुकारने लगीं।
English Commentary
In moments of extreme terror, the subconscious instinct takes over, and for Sita, that instinct is to call upon Rama. The repetition of "Rama, Rama" signifies her total dependence on him for protection. Interestingly, she also invokes Lakshmana, acknowledging his prowess and his role as her guardian. The term 'Bhamini' usually implies a spirited or proud woman, but here it contrasts with her helpless situation, amplifying the tragedy. This verse establishes that despite her isolation, her connection to Rama remains unbroken; he is her first thought in times of danger.

भय के क्षणों में जीव सबसे पहले अपने रक्षक को याद करता है। सीता जी के लिए उनके रक्षक और सर्वस्व केवल श्रीराम हैं। यहाँ 'भामिनी' शब्द का प्रयोग विशेष है, जो उनके क्रोध और तेजस्वी स्वभाव को भी सूचित करता है, किन्तु यहाँ वे विवश हैं। लक्ष्मण का नाम लेना यह दर्शाता है कि वे देवर लक्ष्मण की शक्ति और समर्पण पर भी उतना ही विश्वास करती थीं। यह विलाप केवल रोना नहीं है, बल्कि रक्षण के लिए एक आर्त पुकार (SOS) है। यह दर्शाता है कि संकट के समय उनका अवचेतन मन केवल श्रीराम के नाम का ही आश्रय लेता है।
