Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सा तस्य वचनं श्रुत्वा रामकीर्तनहर्षिता ।
उवाच वाक्यं वैदेही हनुमन्तं द्रुमाश्रितम् ।
।
॥५-३३-१५॥
Sā tasya vacanaṃ śrutvā rāmakīrtanaharṣitā |
Uvāca vākyaṃ vaidehī hanumantaṃ drumāśritam ॥5-33-15॥
Translation
Hearing his words and delighted by the mention of Rama, Vaidehi (Sita) spoke the following words to Hanuman, who was resting on the tree.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह जानकी उन (हनुमान) के वचन सुनकर और राम के नामोच्चारण से हर्षित होकर, वृक्ष पर बैठे हुए हनुमान से (यह) वचन बोलीं।
English Commentary
The pivotal term in this verse is rāmakīrtanaharṣitā (delighted by the praise/mention of Rama). For months in Lanka, Sita had heard nothing but threats and demonic noises. Hearing Rama's name acted as a soothing balm to her soul, momentarily eclipsing her grief and suspicion. Even though Hanuman was still perched in the tree (drumāśritam), the mention of her husband gave her the confidence to respond. This moment signifies the breaking of the silence and the beginning of the historic dialogue, driven purely by the emotional resonance of Rama's name.

इस श्लोक में 'रामकीर्तनहर्षिता' शब्द अत्यंत महत्वपूर्ण है। लंका में महीनों से केवल तर्जन, गर्जन और भय का वातावरण था। ऐसे में, राम का नाम सुनना सीता जी के लिए अमृत समान था। उनका भय और संदेह क्षण भर के लिए राम-नाम के आनंद में विलीन हो गया। यद्यपि हनुमान जी अभी भी वृक्ष पर (द्रुमाश्रितम्) ही हैं और नीचे नहीं उतरे हैं, फिर भी सीता जी ने उनसे संवाद करने का निर्णय लिया। यह राम नाम की शक्ति है जो दो अपरिचितों के बीच सेतु का कार्य करती है। यहाँ से सीता जी अपना परिचय देना आरम्भ करती हैं।
