तामब्रवीन्महातेजा हनूमान् मारुतात्मजः ।
शिरस्यञ्जलिमाधाय सीतां मधुरया गिरा ।

Tāmabravīnmahātejā Hanūmān Mārutātmajaḥ । Śirasyañjalimādhāya Sītāṃ madhurayā girā । 。 ॥5-33-2॥
Translation
The highly radiant Hanuman, son of the Wind-god, placed his joined palms on his head (in salutation) and spoke to Sita with a sweet voice.
हिंदी अनुवाद
महातेजस्वी वायुपुत्र हनुमान ने अपने मस्तक पर अंजलि (हाथ जोड़कर) रखते हुए, सीता जी से मधुर वाणी में कहा।
English Commentary
A striking contrast is presented here: Hanuman is 'Mahateja' (possessing great radiance/energy), yet he speaks in a 'Madhura' (sweet/gentle) voice. Placing joined palms on one's head is a gesture of supreme reverence in Indian culture, usually reserved for deities or gurus. By doing this, Hanuman elevates Sita’s status and lowers his own, signaling that he is a servant and well-wisher, hoping to pierce through her wall of fear with gentleness.

यहाँ हनुमान जी के लिए 'महातेजा' विशेषण प्रयुक्त हुआ है, जो उनकी शक्ति का प्रतीक है, लेकिन उनकी क्रिया 'शिरस्यञ्जलिमाधाय' (सिर पर हाथ जोड़ना) परम भक्ति और दासत्व की प्रतीक है। यह प्रणाम की सर्वोच्च मुद्रा है। डरी हुई सीता को आश्वस्त करने के लिए उन्होंने अपनी वाणी को 'मधुर' (मीठा और सौम्य) रखा। शक्ति और विनम्रता का ऐसा अद्भुत संगम ही हनुमान जी को 'रामदूत' बनने के योग्य बनाता है।
