तस्यास्तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा हनुमान् हरियूथपः ।
दुःखाद्दुःखाभिभूतायाः सान्त्वमुत्तरमब्रवीत् ।

Tasyāstadvacanaṃ śrutvā Hanumān hariyūthapaḥ । Duḥkhādduḥkhābhibhūtāyāḥ sāntvamuttaramabravīt । ॥5-34-1॥
Translation
Hearing those words of hers, who was overwhelmed by sorrow upon sorrow, Hanuman, the leader of the monkeys, spoke a consoling reply.
हिंदी अनुवाद
दुख से और भी अधिक दुख से घिरी हुई उस देवी (सीता) के वचन सुनकर, वानर यूथपति हनुमान ने सांत्वना भरा उत्तर दिया।
English Commentary
This verse marks a shift in the narrative from Sita's lament to Hanuman's intervention. Sita is described as dukhad-dukha-abhibhutayah—compounded by grief upon grief. Hanuman, identified here as Hariyuthapah (leader of monkey troops), responds not just with strategy but with santvam (consolation). This highlights Hanuman's emotional intelligence; before discussing the logistics of rescue or war, he recognizes that his first duty is to assuage the intense psychological suffering of the Mother.

यहाँ से सर्ग 34 और हनुमान जी का उत्तर आरंभ होता है। सीता जी की स्थिति "दुःखाद्दुःखाभिभूतायाः" है—यानी एक दुख के बाद दूसरा दुख (पहले वनवास, फिर अपहरण, अब मृत्यु का भय)। हनुमान जी का परिचय "हरियूथपः" (वानरों के नेता) के रूप में दिया गया है, जो उनकी क्षमता और जिम्मेदारी को दर्शाता है। हनुमान जी का उद्देश्य अब केवल सूचना देना नहीं, बल्कि "सान्त्वम्"—सीता के घावों पर मरहम लगाना है। एक दूत और भक्त के रूप में उनकी संवेदनशीलता यहाँ प्रकट होती है।
