अहं रामस्य सन्देशाद्देवि दूतस्तवागतः ।
वैदेहि कुशली रामस्त्वां च कौशलमब्रवीत् ।
।
॥५-३४-२॥
Ahaṃ Rāmasya sandeśāddevi dūtastavāgataḥ । Vaidehi kuśalī Rāmastvāṃ ca kauśalamabravīt । । ॥5-34-2॥
Translation
O Devi! I have come to you as a messenger by the command of Rama. O Vaidehi, Rama is well, and he inquires about your welfare.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे देवि! मैं राम के आदेश से उनका दूत बनकर आपके पास आया हूँ। हे वैदेही! राम कुशल हैं और उन्होंने आपकी कुशलता पूछी है।
English Commentary
Hanuman executes the duties of a perfect messenger. His opening words establish his credentials (Ramasya sandeshat - by Rama's message) and immediately address Sita's primary anxiety regarding Rama's safety. By stating Kushali Ramah (Rama is well), he breathes life back into her. He addresses her as Vaidehi (Princess of Videha), reminding her of her noble lineage, and conveys Rama's inquiry about her welfare, bridging the emotional gap between the separated couple.

हनुमान जी अपने पहले ही वाक्य में सीता जी के मन की सबसे बड़ी आशंका को दूर करते हैं। वे "रामस्य सन्देशात" (राम के संदेश से) कह कर अपनी प्रमाणिकता सिद्ध करते हैं। "कुशली रामः"—राम ठीक हैं, यह सुनकर सीता को जीवनदान मिलता है। प्रेमी या भक्त के लिए इससे बड़ा कोई समाचार नहीं होता कि उनका प्रिय सुरक्षित है। हनुमान जी उन्हें "वैदेही" और "देवि" कहकर सम्मानित करते हैं और शिष्टाचार वश राम की ओर से उनकी कुशलता पूछते हैं।
