स्वं परित्यज्य रूपं यः परिव्राजकरूपधृत् ।
जनस्थाने मया दृष्टस्त्वं स एवासि रावणः ।
।
॥५-३४-१५॥
Svaṃ parityajya rūpaṃ yaḥ parivrājakarūpadhṛt । Janasthāne mayā dṛṣṭastvaṃ sa evāsi Rāvaṇaḥ । । ॥5-34-15॥
Translation
"You are that very Ravana whom I saw in Janasthana, who, abandoning his own form, wore the guise of a wandering mendicant."

"तुम वही रावण हो जिसे मैंने जनस्थान (पंचवटी) में देखा था, जिसने अपना रूप छोड़कर सन्यासी का रूप धारण किया था।"
English Commentary
Sita draws a parallel between the past and the present to validate her suspicion. She references the traumatic event in Janasthana where Ravana appeared as a Parivrajaka (mendicant). To her, the pattern is identical: a harmless-looking stranger approaching her when she is alone to deceive her. Her conviction ("You are that very Ravana") is based on empirical evidence of his character as a shape-shifter. This makes Hanuman's task of proving his identity incredibly difficult.

सीता जी अपने तर्क (logic) को पुष्ट करती हैं। वे पिछली घटना (Flashback) को याद करती हैं जब रावण 'परिव्राजक' (सन्यासी) बनकर आया था। उनका तर्क है: 'तुमने तब साधु का वेश बनाया था, अब वानर का वेश बनाया है। आदत वही है, केवल मुखौटा बदला है।' यह श्लोक बताता है कि कपट (deceit) किस प्रकार विश्वास की नींव को हमेशा के लिए नष्ट कर देता है। रावण के एक झूठ ने सीता के लिए सत्य को स्वीकारना भी कठिन बना दिया है।
