यो ब्राह्ममस्त्रं वेदांश्च वेद वेदविदां वरः ।
स त्वां दाशरथी रामो देवि कौशलमब्रवीत् ।
।
॥५-३४-३॥
Yo brāhmamastraṃ vedāṃśca veda vedavidāṃ varaḥ । Sa tvāṃ Dāśarathī Rāmo devi kauśalamabravīt । ॥5-34-3॥
Translation
He who knows the Vedas and the Brahma-missile, the best among the knowers of Veda—that Rama, the son of Dasharatha, O Devi, inquires about your welfare.

जो वेदों के ज्ञाताओं में श्रेष्ठ हैं, जो वेद और ब्रह्मास्त्र (के प्रयोग) को जानते हैं, वे दशरथनंदन राम, हे देवि, आपकी कुशलता पूछ रहे हैं।
English Commentary
Hanuman strategically describes Rama to instill hope and confidence in Sita. By mentioning Rama's mastery of the Vedas, he emphasizes Rama's righteousness and moral duty. By mentioning the Brahmastra (the ultimate celestial weapon), he assures her of Rama's martial capability to defeat Ravana. The combination implies: "He has the moral obligation to save you and the military might to execute it." This specific description is meant to dispel any doubts Sita might have about a rescue being possible against the mighty Rakshasas.

हनुमान जी यहाँ राम की शक्ति और ज्ञान का परिचय दे रहे हैं ताकि सीता का विश्वास दृढ़ हो सके। वे राम को "वेदविदां वरः" (ज्ञान में श्रेष्ठ) और "ब्राह्ममस्त्रं वेद" (अजेय अस्त्र के ज्ञाता) बताते हैं। इसका गूढ़ अर्थ यह है कि राम को 'धर्म' (वेद) का ज्ञान है, इसलिए वे आपको नहीं भूलेंगे, और उनके पास 'शक्ति' (ब्रह्मास्त्र) है, इसलिए वे रावण का संहार करने में समर्थ हैं। सीता को यह आश्वासन देना आवश्यक था कि उनके पति उन्हें मुक्त कराने में पूर्णतः सक्षम हैं।
