लक्ष्मणश्च महातेजा भर्तुस्ते ऽनुचरः प्रियः ।
कृतवाञ्छोकसन्तप्तः शिरसा ते ऽभिवादनम् ।
।
॥५-३४-४॥
Lakṣmaṇaśca mahātejā bhartuste 'nucaraḥ priyaḥ । Kṛtavāñchokasantaptaḥ śirasā te 'bhivādanam । ॥5-34-4॥
Translation
And the highly radiant Lakshmana, the beloved follower of your husband, who is tormented by grief, has offered his salutations to you with his head bowed.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आपके पति के प्रिय अनुचर और महातेजस्वी लक्ष्मण ने, जो शोक से संतप्त हैं, आपको सिर झुकाकर प्रणाम निवेदन किया है।
English Commentary
Hanuman conveys Lakshmana’s message with great sensitivity. Lakshmana is described as Mahateja (great resplendence) but currently shoka-santaptah (burning with grief). This grief stems from his guilt over the abduction, as he was the one guarding her last. His salutation shirasa (with his head bowed) indicates deep reverence and perhaps an unspoken apology. Hanuman ensures Sita knows that Lakshmana is still the faithful, beloved servant of Rama and retains his profound respect for her, uniting the family in spirit despite the physical separation.
हिंदी टीका
राम का संदेश देने के बाद, हनुमान जी लक्ष्मण का संदेश देते हैं। लक्ष्मण का परिचय "भर्तुः अनुचरः" (पति के सेवक) के रूप में दिया है। सबसे मार्मिक शब्द है "शोकसन्तप्तः" (शोक से जलते हुए)। लक्ष्मण दुखी हैं क्योंकि उन्हें लगता है कि उनकी असावधानी (सीता को अकेला छोड़ना) के कारण ही यह अनर्थ हुआ। वे "शिरसा अभिवादनम्" (सिर से प्रणाम) भेजते हैं, जो उनके पश्चाताप और मातृवत सम्मान को दर्शाता है। हनुमान जी यह बताकर सीता के मन से लक्ष्मण के प्रति किसी भी संभावित रोष को मिटाना चाहते हैं।
