रामस्य च सखा देवि सुग्रीवो नाम वानरः ।
राजा वानरमुख्यानां स त्वां कौशलमब्रवीत् ।

Ramasya cha sakha devi sugrivo nama vanarah |
Raja vanaramukhyanam sa tvam kaushalamabravit ॥5-34-36॥
Translation
O Devi, the friend of Rama, a Vanara named Sugriva, who is the King of the Vanara chiefs, has also inquired about your welfare.

हे देवी! राम के मित्र और वानर-प्रमुखों के राजा, सुग्रीव नामक वानर ने भी आपकी कुशलता पूछी है।
English Commentary
This verse introduces a strategic shift. Hanuman informs Sita of the alliance between Rama and Sugriva. By addressing her as 'Devi' and mentioning Sugriva as Rama’s 'Sakha' (friend), Hanuman highlights that this is a formal military alliance. Knowing that a King of Vanaras supports her husband provides Sita with tangible hope that a rescue operation is not just a fantasy, but a political and military reality supported by a massive force.

हनुमान जी यहाँ एक नए पात्र और नई शक्ति का परिचय दे रहे हैं—सुग्रीव। 'रामस्य सखा' (राम के मित्र) कहकर वे यह बताते हैं कि राम ने नए गठबंधन बनाए हैं। सुग्रीव 'वानरराज' हैं, जिसका अर्थ है कि एक पूरी सेना सीता की खोज में लगी है। सीता जी अब तक यह नहीं जानती थीं कि राम को कोई सहायता मिली है या नहीं। यह श्लोक उन्हें आश्वस्त करता है कि राम अकेले नहीं हैं, बल्कि एक राजा और उनकी सेना उनके साथ है।
