अहं सुग्रीवसचिवो हनुमान्नाम वानरः ।
प्रविष्टो नगरीं लङ्कां लङ्घयित्वा महोदधिम् ।

Aham sugrivasachivo hanumannama vanarah |
Pravishto nagarim lankam langhayitva mahodadhim ॥5-34-39॥
Translation
I am Sugriva's minister, a Vanara named Hanuman. I have entered the city of Lanka after crossing the great ocean.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं सुग्रीव का मंत्री, हनुमान नाम का वानर हूँ। मैं उस महान सागर को लांघकर लंका नगरी में प्रविष्ट हुआ हूँ।
English Commentary
Hanuman establishes his credentials both politically and physically. As a 'Sachiva' (minister) of Sugriva, he holds diplomatic rank and responsibility. By stating he crossed the 'great ocean,' he offers proof of his supernatural capabilities (Siddhi). This is crucial because for Sita to believe in the rescue, she must first believe that the messenger is capable of breaching Lanka’s defenses, which were considered impenetrable.

यहाँ हनुमान जी अपना पूर्ण परिचय दे रहे हैं। वे केवल एक साधारण वानर नहीं, बल्कि सुग्रीव के 'सचिव' (मंत्री) हैं, जो उनकी बौद्धिक क्षमता और उच्च पद को दर्शाता है। 'महौदधिम् लङ्घयित्वा' (महान सागर को पार करके)—यह कथन उनकी शक्ति का प्रमाण है। सीता जी सोच सकती थीं कि कोई वानर यहाँ कैसे आ सकता है, इसलिए हनुमान जी स्पष्ट करते हैं कि वे अपनी शक्ति से समुद्र पार करके आए हैं। यह उनकी विश्वसनीयता (credibility) स्थापित करता है।
