कृत्वा मूर्ध्नि पदन्यासं रावणस्य दुरात्मनः ।
त्वां द्रष्टुमुपयातो ऽहं समाश्रित्य पराक्रमम् ।

Kritva murdhni padanyasam ravanasya duratmanah |
Tvam drashtumupayato 'ham samashritya parakramam ॥5-34-40॥
Translation
Placing my foot on the head of the evil-minded Ravana (defying his power), and relying on my own valor, I have come here to see you.
हिंदी अनुवाद
मैं दुरात्मा रावण के सिर पर पैर रखकर (उसकी शक्ति को तुच्छ समझकर/कुचलकर) और अपने पराक्रम का आश्रय लेकर, आपके दर्शन करने के लिए आया हूँ।
English Commentary
This verse is a declaration of defiance and valor. The idiom 'placing my foot on the head' signifies total dominance and disregard for Ravana’s authority. Hanuman assures Sita that he is not sneaking around out of fear, but has bypassed Ravana's defenses through sheer 'Parakram' (valor/prowess). It empowers Sita to know that Ravana is not invincible and that there are forces capable of treating the Demon King with contempt just to ensure her safety.

यह एक अत्यंत ओजस्वी श्लोक है। 'सिर पर पैर रखना' एक मुहावरा है जिसका अर्थ है किसी की सत्ता को पूरी तरह चुनौती देना या अपमानित करना। हनुमान जी कह रहे हैं कि वे रावण से छुपकर नहीं, बल्कि उसके अहंकार को कुचलकर लंका में आए हैं। 'त्वां द्रष्टुमुपयातो'—इतने जोखिम उठाने का उद्देश्य केवल सीता जी के दर्शन करना था। यह सीता जी के प्रति उनकी भक्ति और रावण के प्रति उनकी निर्भीकता का अद्भुत मिश्रण है।
