तस्यास्तद्वचनं श्रुत्वा हनुमान् हरियूथपः ।
सीतायाः शोकदीनायाः समीपमुपचक्रमे ।

Tasyāstadvacanaṃ śrutvā Hanumān hariyūthapaḥ । Sītāyāḥ śokadīnāyāḥ samīpamupacakrame । । ॥5-34-8॥
Translation
Hearing those words of hers, Hanuman, the leader of the monkey troops, began to move closer to Sita, who was wretched with grief.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सीता के उन (आशाजनक) वचनों को सुनकर, वानर यूथपति हनुमान, शोक से दीन हुई सीता के और अधिक समीप जाने लगे।
English Commentary
Encouraged by Sita’s citation of the hopeful proverb, Hanuman makes a move to bridge the physical distance. He approaches (samipam upachakrame) to offer comfort and perhaps speak more confidentially. However, this action, though well-intentioned, fails to account for the depth of Sita's trauma. The text describes her as shoka-dinayah (wretched with grief), implying her vulnerability. Hanuman’s advance inadvertently triggers her defense mechanisms, shifting the scene from relief back to panic.

हनुमान जी सीता के सुखद वचनों से उत्साहित हो गए। उन्हें लगा कि अब विश्वास स्थापित हो गया है, इसलिए वे बात को आगे बढ़ाने और सांत्वना देने के लिए पेड़ की डाल से नीचे उतरकर उनके "समीप" जाने लगे। यह हनुमान जी की सहज प्रतिक्रिया थी, किन्तु वे सीता जी की मानसिक स्थिति (Trauma) का पूरा अनुमान नहीं लगा पाए। एक अनजान, विशालकाय वानर का पास आना सीता के लिए भय का कारण बन गया। यह संवाद की एक नाज़ुक स्थिति है।
