त्रिस्थिरस्त्रिप्रलम्बश्च त्रिसमस्त्रिषु चोन्नतः ।
त्रिताम्रस्त्रिषु च स्निग्धो गम्भीरस्त्रिषु नित्यशः ।

Tristhirastripralambaśca trisamastriṣu connataḥ |
Tritāmrastriṣu ca snigdho gambhīrastriṣu nityaśaḥ ॥5-35-17॥
Translation
He is firm in three (breast, wrist, fist), long in three (eyebrows, arms, testicles), even in three (locks of hair, testicles, knees), and elevated in three (navel, abdomen, breast). He is copper-coloured in three (eyes, soles, palms), glossy in three (hair, skin, nails), and always deep/profound in three (voice, gait, navel).

वे तीन अंगों (छाती, कलाई, मुट्ठी) में दृढ़ हैं; तीन अंगों (भौहें, भुजाएँ, अंडकोष) में लम्बे हैं; तीन अंगों (बाल, अंडकोष, घुटने) में समान हैं; और तीन अंगों (नाभि, पेट, छाती) में उन्नत (उभरे हुए) हैं। वे तीन स्थानों (नेत्र, तलवे, हथेलियां) में ताम्रवर्ण हैं; तीन स्थानों (बाल, त्वचा, नख) में चिकने हैं और तीन स्थानों (स्वर, चाल, नाभि) में नित्य गंभीर हैं।
English Commentary
Hanuman employs precise technical language from Samudrika Shastra here. These sets of "threes" describe the anatomy of a perfect man or an Emperor. For instance, being "coppery" in eyes, palms, and soles denotes royalty. Being "deep" in voice, gait, and navel suggests depth of character and nobility. By reciting these specific, almost intimate bodily marks, Hanuman provides irrefutable evidence to Sita that he has observed Rama closely and is not an imposter using a magical disguise.

यह श्लोक पूर्णतः सामुद्रिक शास्त्र की तकनीकी शब्दावली में है। ये लक्षण 'महापुरुष' के हैं। उदाहरण के लिए, नेत्र, तलवे और हथेलियों का लाल (ताम्र) होना उत्तम स्वास्थ्य और राजसी भोग का सूचक है। स्वर, गति और नाभि का गहरा (गंभीर) होना धैर्य और गंभीरता का प्रतीक है। हनुमान जी इन अत्यंत सूक्ष्म शारीरिक लक्षणों का वर्णन इसलिए कर रहे हैं ताकि सीता को विश्वास हो जाए कि यह वानर वास्तव में राम को बहुत निकट से और ध्यानपूर्वक देखकर आया है।
