त्वामेव मार्गमाणौ तौ विचरन्तौ वसुन्धराम् ।
ददर्शतुर्मृगपतिं पूर्वजेनावरोपितम् ।
।

Tvāmeva mārgamāṇau tau vicarantau vasundharām |
dadarśaturmṛgapatiṃ pūrvajenāvaropitam ॥5-35-24॥
Translation
While searching specifically for you and wandering across the earth, those two (Rama and Lakshmana) saw the Lord of Beasts (Sugriva), who had been deposed by his elder brother.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तुम्हारी ही खोज करते हुए और पूरी पृथ्वी पर विचरण करते हुए, उन दोनों (राम और लक्ष्मण) ने अपने बड़े भाई द्वारा राज्य से निकाले गए वानरराज (सुग्रीव) को देखा।
English Commentary
In this verse, Hanuman explains to Mother Sita the circumstances under which Rama met Sugriva. He emphasizes that Rama and Lakshmana were wandering the earth with the sole purpose of finding her (tvāmeva mārgamāṇau). During this search, they encountered Sugriva, described here as mrigapatim (Lord of the animals/monkeys). Hanuman subtly draws a parallel between the two; just as Rama was exiled, Sugriva had been 'brought down' or deposed (avaropitam) by his elder brother, Vali. This shared misfortune of exile and loss sets the stage for the alliance that would eventually lead to the search for Sita.

हनुमान जी यहाँ माता सीता को बता रहे हैं कि श्री राम और लक्ष्मण किस प्रकार सुग्रीव तक पहुँचे। यहाँ 'मृगपति' शब्द का प्रयोग सुग्रीव के लिए किया गया है, जिसका अर्थ है पशुओं या वानरों का स्वामी। हनुमान जी यह स्पष्ट करते हैं कि राम का मुख्य उद्देश्य केवल सीता की खोज था ('त्वामेव मार्गमाणौ' - केवल आपको ही खोजते हुए)। भटकते हुए उनका मिलन संयोगवश सुग्रीव से हुआ, जो राम की तरह ही दुखी थे क्योंकि उन्हें उनके बड़े भाई वाली ने राज्य से निष्कासित कर दिया था। यह श्लोक राम और सुग्रीव के मिलन की पृष्ठभूमि तैयार करता है, जो समान परिस्थितियों (वियोग और राज्य-नाश) के कारण स्वाभाविक मित्र बन गए।
